As part of there duties and obligations, a foremost Sagamu based group, Akogun Base, with their secretariat at Surulere Junction, Sagamu Ogun State, has reached out to hundreds of old age people, widows and vulnerable people in the Surulere community, area of Sagamu, with gifts of food items and cash as support for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The based ably headed by Asiwaju Abidemi, popularly known as Bidex, said Akogun Base since establishment has as a core mandate of giving back to the community and that is why it has chosen the festive period to support widows, the old age and vulnerable people amidst rising inflation with the attendant high cost of living.

Recalled that Akogun Base was formulated in respect and honour of the late Sagamu great warrior and generalissimo of the Alluta Struggle, Late Dr. Akogun Maikel Segun Okeowo, who during his time as the National President of the Nigeria Student Union, led millions of Nigerian students to a most peaceful “ALLI MUST GO” national protest.

While speaking, Asiwaju Bidex made it known that the Akogun Base has chosen to focus on widows and the less privilege because they are part of the vulnerable in the society and the yuletide is one of the best seasons to share and give back to the community, while using the medium to called on all Youth and Faaji lovers, to joined the Akogun Base at their End of the Year Party, on December 26th, at their base secretariat in Surulere, noting the celebrations usually comes on every December 26th to celebrate God faithfulness in their base, as well as giving annual respect and remembrance to the legendary Late Akogun Segun Okeowo.
