Legendary poet, playwright, dramatist and cultural icon, Pa. Jimi Adeboye Solanke was announced death by family members in Ipara Remo, area of Ogun State, this afternoon around 1:25pm, today Monday 5th, February 2024.

Pa. Jimi was said to have being sick for some weeks ago before his death. He gave up the ghost in his home town, Ipara Remo, while he was being rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

The late octogenarian was born on July 4, 1942, in Ipara Remo. The late Pa. Solanke before his his death was a well-respected cultural ambassador for Africa and received his training in drama at the University of Ibadan.

Friends and families have been sending their heartfelt condolences messages to the family of the late singer.
