The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Ogun State Chapter, ably led by Alhaji Akeem Bodunrin a.k.a Iyeru, has condemned an illegal plot and allegations levied against him by the leadership of the OSMOS, led by Alhaji Yaro, to cause violence in the Gateway State and attack its State Secretariat located at Asero, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Iyeru’s denial came after the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Alamutu on Friday, said the command was investigating the alleged threat attack issued against Yaro and the OSMOS allegedly by Iyeru.

Iyeru in his statement, said the OSMOS led by Yaro wanted to hide under the guise of tarnishing his personality in the Union sector and the State in general, noting he and his members have it on good authority to always be for peace, and if you look at all the motor parks in Ogun State, there is peace.

Iyeru described the planned attack allegations as a campaign of calumny against him and the leadership of the Ogun NURTW, aimed at causing confusion in the State, noting he didn’t attack the secretariat when he, Iyeru, was not the Chairman, while would he now planned ahead of attacking and destroying the union secretariat now that he is the State Chairman of the Union. “The secretariat is meant for our use and purpose, both the NURTW and the PAM, so why will I now move ahead of destroying what I build”, Iyeru said, noting all the documents of the secretariat was with him, so why will he attack it.

Iyeru however, warned that he would not condone any act of lawlessness by YARO for defaming his personality, while noting he had notified the police and other relevant security agencies of the planned actions of the group.

We are using this medium to alert the general public to watch out, while he also used the medium to call on the security agencies to rise up to the allegations and prevent the breakdown of law and order.

The statement therefore called on the plotters to have a rethink and desist forthwith just as it called on the security agencies to act fast and prevent positive breakdown of law in the State, noting Ogun State is a peaceful State for all and no one or group should be allowed to use is selfishness and personal interest to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere that people of the State are enjoying under the good governance of the high ranking performing Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who have being caring for the welfare, growth and development of the State, since 2019.
