The Ogijo youth wing of Olanrewaju Michael George (OMG) has assured that it will deliver massive votes for the Tayese of Ikenne Land, Chief Olanrewaju Michael George, at the 2023 polls.
The youths, from the 10 Zones in Ogijo, gave the assurance during the general ward meeting held on Tuesday.
Addressing the crowd, the Ogijo youth leader, Engineer Babarinde Akinpelu, said that OMG has demonstrated that he has the love of the people of Ogijo and Remo North at heart and as such, the people will pay him back by voting massively for him at the polls.
“To be candid and I stand to be corrected, nobody has shown us love in Ogijo and Remo the way OMG has done. In my years in politics, and I have spent close to 15 years, this is new. In Ogijo, we always turn out massive votes during election periods and because of what OMG has done, that massive votes will go to him come 2023.”
The Remo woman leader of OMG, J.P Adedeji Olusola, who also spoke at the gathering, urged those present to partake in the Continous Voters Registration exercise and get their voters’ cards as that is the only way they can show their love for OMG.
The Director of Publicity for OMG, Odeyemi Saidat, who represented him, said that one of the priorities of Olanrewaju George is to better the lot of the youths.
She said: “While some politicians see the youths as objects of destruction and thuggery, OMG, in his capacity and belief that the energy of the youths should be directed to positive means, has trained more than a thousand youths in different skills to be managers on their own. He didn’t give them fish alone, he taught them how to fish as well by giving them start-up tools.
“For him, you are nation builders and deserve all the support you all need to maximise your potentials.”
She called on the youths to ensure that they get their voters’ cards and usher in a new era by voting in OMG.
The Director-General of OMG in Ogijo, Hon Teslim Adesanwo, said he became an ardent follower and crusader of OMG following his love for the betterment of the people.
He described OMG as a man with the love of his people at heart and he enjoined people to support his political ambition so he can do more for them.
Other notable leaders at the gathering were the wife of the C.S.O Alhaja Funmilayo Simeon Eko; representative of Otunba Tiwalade, Hon Olutayo Solomon Emmanuel; the youth leaders of the 10 zones in Ogijo, amongst others.
