The Ipara Electoral-Support Team gathered together in a grand reception to celebrate and honour the dedicated public service of Hon. Awolaja Dickson Kolawole (ADK), the Deputy Minority Whip of the Ogun State House of Assembly, representing the good people of Remo North Local Government at the State Assembly.

The event held yesterday, Sunday, August 13th 2023, at Lasu Hall, Esepe in Ipara Remo, had in attendance Hon. Lamidi Adegbenga Sopelola, former Vice Chairman of Remo North Local Government; Alhaji (Dr.) Olamilekan Bashir, Mr. Babatunde Idowu -FCA, Omo’ba Adeniyi Akinwunmi, Mr. Ewejobi Folusho, Mr. Babatunde Opayiga, Mrs.Yinka Oduntan, Prince Tai Onasegun, Mr. Abiodun Opaade, the Coordinator of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Remo North Branch; Comr. Chris Olokodana who is also one of the organizers and the anchor of the programme, the Chief Imam of Ipara Remo; Fadeelat Sheik Alhaji Nasirlai Abdul-Fatai Kolawole, and many numerous dignitaries, community and religious leaders, and constituents from the town.

At the event, Elder Samuel Soyebo (AKA Abednego) gave the welcome address to officially receive the lawmaker and his entourage, the invited quests and all audience to the event, while a member of the organizer – Sir Oladapo Sunday Odulana gave an opening speech. In his opening remarks “The Night” noted that the grand reception was put together as to officially congratulate and celebrate the lawmaker on his emergence as the winner of the 2023 State Assembly elections, and to also familiarize with him, as the body of Ipara Electoral-Support Team wish him a successful sojourn in office. “And secondly, we are also here today, to have a communal dialogue with the Lawmaker on the development and uplifting of Ipara town, as well as to look into some of the challenges facing the Ipara community and think of ways to tackle these issues in collaboration with the government”, Odulana said.

In his goodwill messages, Alhaji (Hon.) Olamilekan Bashir describes the lawmaker as a peace-loving man, a selfless leader and a leader par excellence; assuring him of people’s readiness to give him every needed support for the development of Ipara Remo and Remo North Local Government in general. He concluded in his notes that the people of Ipara Remo have reciprocate his kind gesture by voting him as their representative at the 10th State House of Assembly.

Prominent members of the Ipara Electoral-Support Team took the opportunity to laud the lawmaker’s accomplishments, praising his dedication to the uplifting of the constituency, as they also acknowledge his present voice regarding security issues in the local government at the legislative sittings.

Speaking at the event, Comr. Chris Olokodana, who spoke on behalf of the Youths Constituency, charged the lawmaker to use everything within his capacity to create empowerment and job opportunities for the youths and also adds youth inclusiveness to his governance, and to also ensure that he bring the government more closer to the people of the grassroots.

Series of requests and reactions were highlighted for the lawmaker for proper consideration and intervention, which include; support for Education growth and improvement, availability of water, road constructions and grading, rehabilitation and constructions of classrooms in their government owned schools, transportation rating intervention, provisions of electricity transformers, health care facilities, support for holiday coaching for students of Ipara Remo, awarding scholarship to best students in public schools in other to motivate the students to learn more, security of lives and properties, infrastructure facilities, sponsoring bills that ensured their concerns are heard and addressed at the State level of government, and many more.

During his remarks, Hon. Awolaja Dickson Kolawole – ADK thanked the Ipara Electoral-Support Team and the community for their continuous support, emphasizing that the progress made so far would not have been possible without their collaboration. He reaffirmed his dedication to serving the people and highlighted his ongoing efforts to bringing positive changes to the Remo North Local Government. The house member added that the first project that will be executed in Remo North Local Government under his watch will be at Ipara town, adding that in few weeks, there will be renovation of a block of six classrooms at Local Government Primary School, Ipara Remo.
On the said project, he urged the people of the town, especially members of the team, to make themselves available once the work commenced for the reason of proper monitoring of the project execution.

“My promise to the people of Ipara and Remo North at large will not change as I pledge my commitment to work together with the interest of the people for the betterment of our Constituency”, ADK said.

Other notable members of the team who also gained recognition of the honourable and whose impacts could not be overemphasized are Engr. Mayowa Soyiga and Mr. James Adeolu Dosu.

The event ended with a show of celebrations, jubilations, cutting of cakes, unity and commitment, as community leaders, constituents, and supporters reaffirmed their collective resolve to work together for the betterment of Ipara and Remo North Local Government.
