Veteran Fuji musician, Igwe Remi Aluko, asserts that Afrobeats artists are appropriating elements from the genre.

He emphasizes that Afrobeats musicians, notably Burna Boy, have borrowed extensively from Fuji, specifically in terms of chorus patterns.

Baba Bose has he’s fondly calle, specifically pointed out that Burna Boy’s stage performance seems to draw inspiration from the Fuji genre.

Speaking in a recent interview with Echo Room, Aluko said; “Afrobeats artists are stealing from Fuji music. They know that.

“They stole a lot of things from Fuji music. Part of Afrobeats song chorus is from Fuji music. Burna Boy for instance, his stage performance is totally unique because it’s inspired by fuji.”
