Remo Youth Association Seeks Partnership With Security Agencies To Prevent Crimes, Insecurities, And Others 

The apex body of youths in Remo Land, area of Ogun State, the Remo Youth Association — RYA, has on Tuesday, July 30th, 2024, paid courtesy visit to the Sagamu Area Command Division of the Nigerian Police Force, to foster a stronger partnership between the youths and security agencies.

The visiting delegations ably led by the body’s Chairman, Comrade Bidemi Solarin, was highly received by the Area Commander of the Command Division, ACP Shehu Alao and AO Makinde, alongside members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Remo, led by Vice Chairman, Mr. Jegede.

While highlighting the purpose of the visits, the RYA Chairman, Solarin, said the visit aimed on introducing the new executive members of RYA, secondly, to discuss issues concerning the security architecture, also to seek collaboration with the Command in combating crime activities, adding to also request liaison with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to reduce drugs promotion, and lastly, to address the upcoming planned protest by unknown faces and its potential implications in Remo Land.

Speaking during the meeting, PCRC Vice Chairman, Mr. Jegede, emphasized the importance of youth representation in PCRC meetings, while the visiting Youths pledge their total supports and dedications to the initiatives of making Remo a home of peace by ACP Alao and other security agencies in general. “We pray for you a divine guidance, wisdom and success in this journey of service to the community”, the Youths said.

ACP Alao expressed his appreciation for the visit, stating that it was timely and crucial, especially with the impending youth protests across the country. He acknowledged the visit as a call to service and promised to maintain the existing collaboration with the youth to consolidate the peaceful co-existence in Remo.

The meeting concluded with both bodies reaffirming their support, dedications and commitments to work together in tackling security challenges and promoting a safer and secure community for everyone.
