The meeting of the Ode Remo Youth Association was held at the town hall on Sunday 21st of July, 2024. Three of their members were empowered with brand-new sewing machines. The beneficiaries include Folarin Mosunmola (Female), Kehinde Ayomide (Male), and Ganiyu Waris (Male)

“We have many of our youths who are learning various skills and unable to purchase needed equipment for themselves. It is one of the objectives of this noble association to support them.”- Onagbesan disclosed

The association Protem Coordinator, Comrade Yaya Onagbesan disclosed that it’s high time youths need to get themselves involved in things that will add value to themselves and society at large. However, nobody will help the Youths if there is no seriousness on our part. The only way we can get involved in decision-making is to set out priorities right while engaging in things that will promote socio-economic growth and development.

The association is also set to train youths in the area of ICT. This was disclosed after inspecting the ICT facility (20 brand-new desktops donated by Asiwaju Bisi Adegbuyi. The training will last for 6 weeks and it’s open to students of Secondary school during the long vacation. However, the registration cost will be very affordable to all.

Some of the issues discussed at the meeting include setting up proper Executives for the association during their week in October, temporary usage of the ICT center as secretariat for the youth association after getting formal approval from the town hall management committee, and annual subscription by members.

One of the messages passed across while concluding the meeting was that the Youth must all work together in LOVE and UNITY.

The meeting was attended by Protem executives; Tosin Osho, Sonuyi Taofeek, and Kamal Idowu with the support of Chief Balogun Awolumate, and Mr. Olatunji Olusanya.
