The Deputy Chairman of Sapele Political Movement, Member, Sagamu APC Campaign Committee (Finance), and Ambassador, APC Youth League, who also doubled as Member, National Youth Mobilization (South-West) for Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Omooba Adeniyi Adesola Idowu, is calling on all Nigerians mostly the Youths, to exercise their right to vote in the tomorrow Saturday, February 25th, 2023 general elections peacefully without consideration for violent exhibition.
As the election approaches, it’s evident that some of the policies of the government have heightened tensions amongst the Nigerian populace and the risk of violence is ever-present, but let’s our hope be renewed as we plan to build our future together by participating in the democratic process. “I urge you to shun violence or any electoral malpractices. Violence only begets more violence, and it has no place in a civil and democratic society. Let us seek to peacefully express our opinions and make our voices heard through the ballot box, not through destructive actions”, Omooba Adeniyi Idowu said, while assuring victory and congratulating all the APC candidates in advance.
“As young people, we have a vital role to play in ensuring that our country remains united and peaceful. We must not allow ourselves to be used as tools for violence and disruption. Instead, we should use our voices and our votes to bring about positive change in our communities, Sagamu, Remo and Ogun State at large”, Omooba said, while also calling the electoral body, INEC, all security agent, monitoring group, political parties and candidates, to make sure the elections goes freely, transparently and peacefully as planned, and to ensure that every eligible voters cast their votes at the appropriate hours, and during the electoral process.
In conclusion, I also encourage you to report any incidents of violence or election malpractices to the appropriate authorities. We must work together to ensure that our democracy is upheld and that our elections are free and fair. Let us show the world that as young people, we are responsible, peaceful, and committed to building a better future for ourselves and our country, while also pleading to everyone to vote wisely and responsibly with free, credible, fair and God fearing mind, and to also embrace peace during and after the elections.
