Tears Flow As Rt. Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga, ‘Ijaya’, Laid To Rest In Emotional Funeral

Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga, widely known as ‘Ijaya’, who was laid to rest on Friday, January 24, 2025. The burial took place at her country home in Ewuga, following Islamic rites.
The late politician’s remains were brought to the Sagamu Central Mosque on Ewusi Road for Islamic burial prayers, where a large gathering of mourners paid their respects before proceeding to her home in Ewuga for the final interment.
Ijaya, who served as the Deputy Chief Whip of the 10th National Assembly, represented the Remo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in Abuja. Her impactful role in politics and society was evident in the substantial turnout of attendees, including family members, friends, political allies, and neighborhood residents who came to honor her legacy.
