It’s a glorious celebrations as another feather was added to the cap of Comr. Kayode Segun Okeowo popularly known as Ikenga, as the Ewusi of Makun Land, His Royal Highness; Alayeluwa Oba Timothy Oyesola Akinsanya (Orugba II) announced the conffirment of the chieftaincy title of Aare Omo Akin of Makun Land on Ikenga.

The chieftaincy tittles was announced during the Youth Nite/Beauty Pageant event activities of the 25th Obaruwa Festival were the newly chief’s bags Leadership Award, at the event which was held at the palace of the traditional ruler on Thursday, 9th February, 2023, as the event was graced by prominent high chiefs, the good people of Makun and well-wishers from across Sagamu, Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria and Diaspora at large, Genesis Media House reports.

In a statement by the royal king, Ewusi described Ikenga as a blessings to Makun Land, Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole.
“Your openness, warmth and assurances of commitment to the growth and development of Makun Land in particular and Nigeria as a nation further accentuates your well-known attributes as an icon who seeks to smoothen the concerns of the people.

This chieftaincy honour is an indication of trust in your leadership and appreciation of your unending contributions to the betterment of the society. You are indeed, without mincing words, a blessing to our dear land,” Oba Akinsanya said.

While speaking, the newly chieftaincy holder pledged his continued support for the Makun Community and the people of Sagamu at large, while he enjoined the Makun Community to always call upon him at any time for service, as service to humanity remains their calling.

According to Ikenga, the date for the conffirment coronation and inauguration of the chieftaincy tittles will be communicated across to the general public.

Moreso, the palace of the Ewusi of Makun Land, has makes public clarification and also warn the general public against the ongoing viral news which said “The Ewusi Conferred Chieftaincy Tittle On Hon. Olapeju Ayodele, popularly known as PJ, who is the 2023 PDP candidate for the OGHA Sagamu Constituency II (Makun), as an untold stories which is also a fallacy.

This was made known in a statement made available to newsmen and signed by the P.A to the Royal King and one of the chiefs of the palace, Otunba Kayode Howells, which says: My attention was drawn to this story this morning and I should react to it expectedly.

Though, Hon. Peju Ayodele being a bonafide subject to the Ewusi of Makun, could be considered for a Chieftaincy conferment in the nearest future, he was not pronounced for such by the Ewusi at any point.

However, I am to confirm to all and sundry that Comrade Kayode Segun-Okeowo (Ikenga) was pronounced for Chieftaincy conferment as the “Aare Omo-Akin” of Makun by the Ewusi of Makun-Kingdom.

I urge whoever would report any story relating to the Ewusi and the Palace to always endeavor checking for fact(s) before releasing such to the public.
