Excitement As Governor Dapo Abiodun’s Aide, Dr. Mesturah Shittu, Unveils Humanitarian Foundation In Irolu Remo, Distributes Foodstuffs, Educational Materials, And Others

The ancient town of Irolu Remo in Ikenne Local Government came alive on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, as sons, daughters, community leaders, youths, and residents gathered in large numbers for the official launch of the Dr. Mesturah Foundation, a humanitarian and community development initiative established by Dr. Mesturah Shittu.
The colorful and well-attended event marked a significant milestone in the pursuit of grassroots development, humanitarian service, and community empowerment within Irolu Remo, Remoland, and Ogun State at large.
Dr. Mesturah Shittu, an illustrious daughter of Irolu Remo and the current Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, stated that the foundation was birthed out of her passion and commitment to giving back to society and contributing meaningfully to the development of her people.
According to her, the vision behind the foundation is to create impactful interventions that will improve the lives of residents and support sustainable community growth across education, healthcare, youth empowerment, environmental sanitation, agriculture, sports development, and security support.
The event also featured the official inauguration of the executive members of the foundation, led by Mr. Tiwalade Gbenga, who currently serves as the Special Assistant on New Media to the Executive Chairman of Ikenne Local Government. He was deputized by Mr. Moruf Shittu, while Mr. Salami Olanrenwaju was inaugurated as the Secretary of the foundation.
The gathering attracted dignitaries and stakeholders from various sectors, including government officials, royal fathers, chiefs, religious leaders, youth representatives, student leaders, and prominent community stakeholders. The venue was filled to capacity with attendees from Irolu Remo and neighboring communities who came to celebrate and support the laudable initiative.
Among the notable personalities present at the event were HRH Oba Adeyiga Sikiru Adeyilo, the Onirolu of Irolu Remo, who was ably represented by Queen Bola Adeyiga; Prince Wale Oyekoya, Evang. Olalekan Ifede, Hon. Jamiu Mohammad Asimi, Hon. Ifetayo Ifede, Hon. Gboyega Ogunfowokan, Hon. Bidemi Oyedeji, Rev. Bola Oyeladun, Alhaji Bello, Alhaji Kehinde, Hon. Femi Opasanya, Alhaji Balogun, Hon. Femi Ogunnawo, Aare Akeem, representatives of the Irolu Development Association, as well as representatives of the Irolu Youth Development Association.
Special appreciation was equally extended to respected traditional rulers, the foundation’s Patron, Colonel Dele Oyefuga, the foundation’s Matron, Chief Yetunde Liyele, Engr. Yomi Awodipe, Sesan Ogun, alongside dignitaries from other parts of Ogun State, including Comrade Omolara Sansa and Hon. Olajumoke Ogunbanwo from Odogbolu.
As part of the foundation’s empowerment and welfare outreach, brand-new clothes of various sizes ranging from babies to adults were freely distributed to members of the community. Food items were also shared with families, while customized exercise books were presented to primary school pupils to promote and encourage educational development within the community.
Another major highlight of the event was the presentation of Awards of Excellence to distinguished individuals and community icons who have contributed immensely to the growth, peace, and development of Irolu Remo, Ikenne Local Government, and Remoland in general.
In her address, Dr. Mesturah Shittu expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for giving her the opportunity and privilege to serve under his administration and contribute to the developmental strides of Ogun State.
She further emphasized that charity begins at home, which inspired her decision to establish the foundation in her father’s hometown of Irolu Remo. She assured the people that the Dr. Mesturah Foundation would remain committed to impactful humanitarian programs and sustainable community development initiatives that will positively transform lives and strengthen the future of the society.
The successful launch of the Dr. Mesturah Foundation undoubtedly marks the beginning of a new era of compassion, humanitarian outreach, grassroots empowerment, and purposeful community service in Irolu Remo and beyond, while reinforcing the enduring values of leadership, selfless service, and giving back to humanity.
