‎Shocking Case: Surgeons Extract 50 Foreign Objects, Including 29 Spoons and 19 Toothbrushes, From Patient’s Stomach

‎In a remarkable medical feat, doctors at Devnandani Hospital in Hapur, India, successfully removed an astonishing 50 foreign objects from the stomach of a 40-year-old man following a five-hour surgery earlier this month, as reported by News360 Nigeria.

‎The patient was admitted on September 17, suffering from severe stomach pain, vomiting, and weakness. Medical scans revealed the shocking extent of his condition: 29 metal spoons, 19 toothbrushes, and two pens had been ingested, leaving the medical team in disbelief.

‎Lead surgeon Dr. Shyam Kumar remarked, “I have never seen so many foreign bodies in one patient,” noting that the items had been broken into smaller pieces prior to ingestion.

‎Hospital officials disclosed that the man had recently checked into a de-addiction center in Ghaziabad and began swallowing these objects as a form of protest against his placement there.

‎Medical professionals suspect that his behavior may be linked to a psychiatric disorder known as pica, characterized by an uncontrollable urge to consume non-food items.

‎Fortunately, the patient is currently on the path to recovery after the operation.
