‎Community Spirit In Action: Association Of Sabo Sagamu Youth Leaders (ASSYL) Champion Environmental Sanitation Exercise In Sofowora, And Ogededudu Street

‎In a commendable display of community spirit, the leadership of the Association of Sabo Sagamu Youth Leaders (ASSYL), under the energetic presidency of Comrade Oluwafemi Osho, along with the Sagamu chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) led by Comrade Yusuf Adebayo, mobilized a broad coalition of youth organizations from the Sabo Sagamu community for an impactful environmental sanitation exercise today, Thursday, November 27, 2025 in Ogededudu, and Sofowora street, respectively.

‎The event began at Ogededudu Street, where Comrade Abdul Razaq Mohammed, affectionately known as Olowo, welcomed the ASSYL team and provided essential guidance on the areas designated for the sanitation efforts. His instructions set the tone for an organized and effective cleanup initiative, highlighting the importance of community participation in environmental sustainability.

‎Following efforts at Ogededudu Street, the sanitation team proceeded to Sofowora Street, where Comrade Saliu Olamide Daniel, known as Genesis and serving as the PRO II of the NYCN Sagamu Branch, extended a warm welcome to the visiting youth leaders. He outlined the specific areas that would benefit from the sanitation exercise, fostering a spirit of collaboration and teamwork among all present.

‎Upon completing the sanitation activities, Comrade Genesis spoke on behalf of the Sofowora Youth Development Association. He expressed appreciation for ASSYL’s involvement, emphasizing the myriad benefits of maintaining a clean environment for the community’s health and well-being. Genesis reassured the ASSYL of the Sofowora area’s commitment and loyalty, stressing the organization’s role as the umbrella body for all youth groups in Sabo Sagamu.

‎In response to circulating unfounded rumors suggesting a baseless disputes between the leadership of the Sofowora Youth’s and ASSYL, Genesis who is a bonafide son of the area, and also doubled as a core figure in the Sofowora Youth Association, dismissed these speculations as groundless and detrimental to community unity. He humorously remarked that if such a rift existed, the joint sanitation effort would not have commenced. He urged youth groups to prioritize unity, peace, and harmony, asserting that collective strength leads to victory.

‎The youth delegation also took the opportunity to conduct a familiarization visit with community elders on Sofowora Street. Alhaji Agbonmagbe, speaking on behalf of the elders, commended the youth’s initiative and recognized the vital role of the sanitation exercise in fostering community health. He encouraged ongoing cooperation and harmony among the youth, offering prayers for their success and cohesion.

‎The event drew participation from numerous youths across Ogededudu, Sofowora, and various other areas within Sabo Sagamu, reflecting a united front dedicated to bettering their environment and community relations. The efforts today underline the ideal that through active engagement and collaboration, the youth of Sabo Sagamu can lead initiatives that promote sustainability and strengthen community bonds.

‎As the day concluded, the collective efforts showcased a powerful model for youth involvement and community service, setting a precedent for future collaborations among the diverse groups within Sabo Sagamu.
