Comrade Yetunde Lawani Honors Late Father With Grand Burial In Sobe, Edo State

Comrade Yetunde Lawani, the CEO and founder of Yettycherry Initiatives and an executive officer of the current Comrade Bidemi Solanri-led Remo Youth Association (RYA), staged a dignified and colorful burial for her late father, Mr. Adekunle Ogbeta, in his hometown of Sobe, Edo State. This tragic event marked a heartfelt farewell to a beloved figure, who passed away on August 26th, 2025, following a brief illness at his home in Ita Oluwo, Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The burial proceedings commenced with a service of songs held on August 27th at Mr. Ogbeta’s residence, where family and friends gathered to pay their respects. Following this, the deceased was transported to his hometown of Sobe for further memorial activities. A wake keeping was also held on August 28th, drawing attendees from various parts of the community and beyond.
In a fitting tribute to his life, Mr. Adekunle Ogbeta aged 65, was laid to rest in a ceremony that combined traditional customs with Christian rites, reflecting the values and respect held within his family and community. The burial took place at his home in Sobe, encapsulated by a vibrant atmosphere that celebrated his legacy.
Addressing the gathered mourners, Mr. Kennedy Ogbeta, the eldest son of the deceased and CEO of Kenima Autos, extended heartfelt gratitude to all attendees for joining the family in honoring their father’s memory. His words resonated deeply with the congregation, affirming the profound impact Mr. Ogbeta had on those around him.
In a show of solidarity, Comrade Yetunde Lawani was accompanied by fellow youth leaders from the Remo Youth Association, including Comrade Bidemi Solanri, Chairman of RYA, who led the delegation to support their comrade during this difficult time. Among the attendees were notable members of the RYA executive team, including Comrade Babatope, the Organizing Secretary, and Comrade Saliu Olamide Daniel, the Media Officer, alongside numerous family members, friends, and community relatives.
This gathering not only served to commemorate Mr. Ogbeta’s life who survived by wife, children and grand-children, but also emphasized the sense of unity and support among the youth and community leaders, demonstrating the enduring bonds of friendship and shared values in times of loss.
