Latawa Youth Development Association Hosts Successful Environmental Sanitation, Novelty Match, And Youth Carnival In Sagamu

The Latawa Youth Development Association, under the dynamic leadership of Comrade Asiwaju Abidemi Bidex, recently organized a series of impactful events aimed at fostering community spirit and environmental awareness in the Latawa area of Sagamu, Ogun State. The events kicked off with an Environmental Sanitation initiative on December 24, 2025, followed by a friendly novelty match among local youths on December 28, 2025, culminating in a vibrant Youth Carnival on December 29, 2025.
The Environmental Sanitation event saw community members come together to clean public spaces, promoting a cleaner and healthier environment while instilling a sense of responsibility among the residents. Comrade Abidemi Bidex emphasized the importance of environmental sustainability, urging all participants to take pride in their surroundings and commit to regular maintenance of their community.
Following the sanitation efforts, the youth gathered at Eleja Primary School for a thrilling novelty match on December 28. This friendly competition not only showcased the athleticism of the local youths but also fostered camaraderie and teamwork among participants. The match successfully united various youth groups in Latawa, reinforcing the spirit of togetherness and healthy competition.
The highlight of these events was the Youth Carnival, held on December 29, 2025, along Latawa Street. The carnival attracted a diverse crowd, with dignitaries, local leaders, and fun lovers from across Sagamu in attendance. The festivities featured live music, cultural displays, traditional dances, and engaging activities, providing a platform for showcasing the talents and creativity of the youth.
Comrade Abidemi Bidex, in his remarks at the carnival, expressed gratitude to all participants, sponsors, and attendees for making the events a resounding success. He stated, “Our aim was not only to celebrate our youth but also to raise awareness about the importance of environmental health and community engagement. The turnout today reflects our unity and shared vision for a better Sagamu.”
The Latawa Youth Development Association’s initiatives have undeniably strengthened community cohesion and harnessed the potential of the youth in Sagamu.
