LET’S TALK!! FOOD: Why Is Suya Sold Only At Night In Nigeria, Why Can’t It Be Sold During The Day?

Another question is, why is it sold by Hausa or Fulani people mostly.
Suya or tsire is a spicy meat skewer which is a popular food item in West Africa; generally made with skewered beef, ram, or chicken.

Suya seasoning is made with Kulikuli (a roasted peanut snack), cayenne pepper and some other spices.

I know we are not ready for this discussion today, but I have to tell you this. Eating Suya can actually cause cancer. This comes from the reaction of meat and the smoke during Suya preparation which results in a toxic compound that can cause cancer.

Talking about why suya is always sold at night, history has it that why Suya is sold at night is because of its remnant culture from when fire was the only source of illumination and it doubled to provide light and energy.

Though some people claimed that it is because most of the people that purchase Suya are around at nights.

But how true is that? Do you believe it?
