The executives of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Sagamu Chapter, led by the Coordinator, Comrade Yusuf Adebayo, made a significant courtesy visit on July 22, 2025, to His Royal Highness Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile, the Radanuwa of Idado Land, at his Royal Palace in Idado, Sagamu, area of Ogun State.
The visit aimed to foster a collaborative relationship between the youth council and the royal palace, as well as to address pressing issues concerning the youth in the community. During the meeting, Comrade Yusuf Adebayo introduced the delegation to Oba Soile, outlining the main objectives of their visit.
Key topics discussed included strategies to enhance community engagement, the potential for partnerships with the royal palace, addressing youth concerns and demands, and identifying mutual benefits that could arise from collaboration.
Oba Soile expressed his appreciation for the visit, acknowledging the challenges faced by the youth in Sagamu. He addressed issues such as unmet expectations, miscommunication, and unrealistic demands that hinder their collective progress. The monarch urged the visiting youths to work towards resolving these challenges, emphasizing the importance of clear communication and realistic goal-setting.

The Kabiesi also took the opportunity to inform the delegation about the ongoing 2025 Lidero Festival, being celebrated from July 14 to August 15, which is centered around community development, youth empowerment, and cultural promotion. He highlighted the festival’s role in shaping youth development and community growth, encouraging the youths to actively participate and contribute.
In his remarks, Oba Soile extended his support for the progress of the Sagamu NYCN and the development of the Youths in general, assuring the youths that the palace would always be open to them. He concluded the meeting by offering blessings and prayers from the royal throne, wishing the council success in their endeavors.
The visiting youths expressed their gratitude to Kabiesi for the warm welcome and hospitality, extending heartfelt congratulations in anticipation of the Lidero Festival. They reaffirmed their commitment to being active participants in the festival and to contributing positively to the community’s development.
This visit marks a significant step towards strengthening the ties between the youth and the traditional leadership in Sagamu, with hopes for a united front in addressing the challenges facing the community.
