Omisore: Adeleke Must Start From The Grassroots To Join APC, Not Through Friendship

Senator Iyiola Omisore, a former deputy governor of Osun State, has asserted that Governor Ademola Adeleke cannot gain entry into the All Progressives Congress (APC) merely through his connections with Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun.
In an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today program on Wednesday, Omisore emphasized that if Adeleke wishes to align with the APC, he must begin at the grassroots level within the state party structure.

Omisore noted that Adeleke’s motivations may be rooted in a fear of losing his bid for a second term, prompting his interest in the APC platform. He stated, “The APC is not divided in Osun State. While I’m not saying Adeleke cannot join the party—he has the constitutional right to associate with any party—he cannot simply seek alliances in Ogun or Abuja to gain entry into the Osun APC. Meeting with Governor Dapo Abiodun will not secure his place in our party.”
He concluded by reinforcing the idea that “Politics is very local, and one must understand the principles and local structure of the party they intend to join. If Adeleke wishes to join us, he must start from the grassroots.”
