RYD 2024: Sagamu Local Government Triumphs In Akarigbo Cup, Defeats Ikenne/Remo North In Final Match

In an exhilarating showdown at the Lafarge Sport Field today Thursday, December 26th, 2024, Sagamu Local Government emerged victorious in the Akarigbo Cup, defeating Ikenne/Remo North Local Government with a score of 2-0. The match, held as part of festive celebrations of the Remo Youth Day 2024, hosted by Remo Youth Association -RYA, captivated sports enthusiasts and highlighted local talent.

The first half ended in a tense goalless draw, with both teams showcasing solid defenses and determination. However, the momentum shifted significantly in the second half as Sagamu Local Government found their stride, netting two goals that secured their championship title.

In a gesture of appreciation for their sportsmanship, participants were gifted a set of 24 brand shirts to wear during the grand finale of the Youth of the Remo Day 2024, scheduled for tomorrow, December 27, at the Gateway Stadium in Sagamu.
