Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle Joins APC Ward 13 Congress In Simawa For Leadership Picks

In line with the nationwide ward congresses currently being conducted by the All Progressives Congress (APC), party stakeholders and faithful in Ward 13, Simawa, Sagamu, Ogun State, gathered on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, to elect a new set of ward executives to steer the affairs of the party at the grassroots level.

The congress, held at the playing ground opposite Simawa High School in Simawa, witnessed a peaceful and orderly process as members exercised their democratic rights in choosing their leaders. The event formed part of the broader national exercise aimed at strengthening the party’s internal democratic structures across the federation.

The exercise was officially monitored by representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), who served as officiating officers to ensure compliance with laid-down procedures. Additionally, a representative from the APC Ogun State Chapter was present as Coordinating Supervisor, overseeing the conduct of the congress and affirming its transparency and credibility.

At the conclusion of the voting process, Mr. Rabiu Adeniyi (Warrior) emerged as the duly elected Ward Chairman of the APC in Ward 13. Alongside him, 25 other officers were elected to serve as executive members, collectively entrusted with the responsibility of providing leadership, fostering unity, and mobilizing support for the party within the ward.

Among the notable participants at the congress was Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle, who actively took part in the proceedings. Speaking during the event, Otunba Alowonle commended party members for their discipline, unity, and commitment to democratic principles. He emphasized the importance of grassroots leadership in consolidating the strength of the APC ahead of future political engagements, noting that strong ward structures remain the foundation of electoral success.

He further urged the newly elected executives to embrace inclusiveness, transparency, and dedication in the discharge of their duties, stressing that collective responsibility and cooperation among members would ensure sustained growth and stability within the party.

The congress also enjoyed the presence of respected party elders and leaders, including Olotun Jimi Olatunji (Aare), Pa Ade Anade, and other prominent stakeholders. Their attendance underscored the significance of the exercise and reflected the shared commitment of party leaders to nurturing internal democracy and cohesion at the grassroots level.

Party faithful trooped out in large numbers, demonstrating enthusiasm and solidarity as they voted for their preferred candidates in a calm and orderly atmosphere. The successful conduct of the Ward 13 Congress in Simawa stands as a testament to the APC’s resolve to strengthen its structures and deepen democratic participation within its ranks.

As the nationwide congresses continue, the outcome in Ward 13, Sagamu, represents another milestone in the party’s ongoing efforts to reposition and consolidate its grassroots leadership framework across Ogun State and beyond.
