Remo Youth Association Holds Pivotal General Meeting: A New Leadership Era Looms, As Comrade Sesan Agbolade Emerges Electoral Chairman

The Remo Youth Association (RYA), under the leadership of Comrade Bidemi Solarin, convened a significant general meeting on February 15, 2026, at the Ologere Palace, Ogere Remo, Ogun State. This gathering brought together a vibrant assembly of youths from across Remo Land, focusing on community engagement, upcoming elections, and leadership transitions.
The meeting which started with an opening prayer as the esteemed Chairman of the Association, Comrade Solarin, chaired the meeting, welcoming all attendees, expressing gratitude for their mutual support and collaboration throughout his tenure. He highlighted the importance of continuation in passion and loyalty as he prepares to hand over leadership responsibilities to the next administration. “Your commitment has been essential to my administration’s success, and I urge you to extend that same energy and support to the incoming leadership,” he remarked.
The meeting featured critical discussions surrounding the forthcoming RYA elections. Comrade Bidemi provided updates on the establishment of the electoral committee and outlined the schedule for the election activities. However, a notable motion was raised by Comrade Odugbemi Micheal to dissolve the previously appointed electoral committee due to their absence. This motion received overwhelming support from the attendees and was swiftly passed.
In the wake of the committee’s dissolution, a new electoral committee was appointed, with Comrade Sesan Agbolade from Remo North LG designated as Chairperson. Comrade Adeoye Oluwaseyi Emmanuel from Sagamu LG, and Comrade Odunayo Rahman Oluwasegun from Ikenne LG were named as committee members. Comrade Bidemi ceremonially inaugurated the new committee, emphasizing the importance of transparency, integrity, and open-mindedness throughout the election process.
In a crucial advisory, the attendees collectively urged community leaders and stakeholders to diligently select representatives who will genuinely advocate for the interests of their communities within the RYA framework.
Additionally, Comrade Bidemi announced an upcoming special meeting between the RYA and Hon. Princess Ayoola Adesola Elegbeji, the Honorable House of Representative Member representing the Remo Constituency. This meeting will primarily focus on selecting representatives to voice the concerns and interests of RYA members. He encouraged attendees to submit their suggestions for discussion points, assuring them that the chosen representatives would effectively convey their interests.
Demonstrating the RYA’s commitment to youth empowerment, the Chairman revealed plans from an illustrious son of Remo Land based in Canada who intends to launch a skills acquisition program aimed at providing startup capital and employment opportunities for local youths. He encouraged attendees to spread this information within their localities to maximize participation.
Additionally, Comrade Bidemi stressed the importance of paying annual dues, detailing the substantial benefits it brings to the Association and its members. He also unveiled plans for an unprecedented “Retreat Program,” aimed at enhancing the development of outgoing and incoming executives and the wider youth community. This proposal was met with enthusiasm, with attendees commending the initiative as a critical step towards growth.
The meeting culminated in an interactive dialogue session where attendees shared ideas and insights on enhancing the development of the RYA.
