Remo Youth Association Hosts Empowering Youth Summit, Celebrating 7th Annual Remo Youth Day

On December 11, 2025, the Remo Youth Association (RYA), under the dynamic leadership of Comrade Bidemi Solanrin, hosted the Remo Youth Summit at Ogere Town Hall in Ogere Remo, Ogun State. This event marked a significant celebration of the 7th Annual Remo Youth Day, heralding a day of empowerment, collaboration, and community development.
The summit commenced with an inspiring welcome address from Chairman Solanrin, who expressed heartfelt appreciation to all attendees for their participation in this landmark event. He emphasized the summit’s importance for the advancement of youth in the region, underscoring the theme of the event: “Strength in Unity.” In his speech, Solanrin articulated how a united youth can catalyze positive change within their communities, encouraging attendees to raise their voices together to achieve common goals.
The event featured an array of keynote speeches delivered by esteemed guest speakers, who provided valuable insights on the theme “Strength in Unity.” Their messages resonated with the audience, emphasizing the necessity for collaboration and mutual support among young people to address pressing community challenges.
One of the highlights of the summit was the empowerment initiative, which provided essential skills acquisition tools to over 50 underprivileged youth. Participants were awarded practical equipment, including sewing machines, clippers, cutting machines, and vulcanizer machines, equipping them with the means to pursue economic independence. Additionally, the event served over 200 vulnerable individuals with food distributions, a gesture that truly embodied the spirit of community support.
The summit also celebrated local heroes through the presentation of awards to several key figures and personalities from Remo Land. These awards recognized their invaluable contributions to community development and the upliftment of the youth, acknowledging individuals who have dedicated their efforts to improving the lives of others.
The event was graced by esteemed attendees, including representatives of the Ologere of Ogere and Hon. Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji, represented by Omooba Abiola Ogundeko, along with numerous community leaders and stakeholders. Their presence underscored the collaborative spirit of the summit and the importance of leadership in supporting local youth initiatives.
As the event drew to a close, the RYA reaffirmed its commitment to empowering the young people of Remo Land, encouraging them to unify their efforts in pursuit of a brighter future.
