The Akogun (Dr.) Olusegun Okeowo dynasty, will on Thursday 25th January, 2024, hold a memorial lecture titled “MAXIMIZING THE POTENTIALS OF STUDENTS’UNION LEADERSHIP FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT”, which is in commemoration of the 10th Year Remembrance of their late father and the 1978 NUNS National President, who led the struggle of the Nigeria’s most popular and progressive students protest tagged the ALI MUST GO also known as ALIMUNGO.

According to a media release by the son of the late Aluta Legend, Comrade Segun Okeowo Kayode (Ikenga), the memorial lecture will be delivered by Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, the Hon. Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology in Ogun state. Special Guests of Honour expected at the event are; Senator Goodwill Akpabio CON (Senate President of Federal Republic of Nigeria), HE Prince Dapo Abiodun CON (Executive Governor of Ogun state,), Senator Opeyemi Bamidele MOB (Senate Leader and Chairman of the occasion), HE.,Otunba Justus Gbenga Daniel (Father of the Day), Senator Dr Tony Nwoye, Hon Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga MHR (Mother of the Day), Aare Adetola Emmanuel King Olaonipekun (ADRON), Comrade Sunday Asefon (SSA to President Tinubu on Students Engagement), Comrade Segun Mayegun and other eminent personalities including distinguished stakeholders in the Nigeria’s student and Youth struggle and movement.

Late Chief Segun Okeowo was well known during his lifetime as a freedom fighter, activist of great repute, National Leader, distinguished community leader and educationist. He died on January 28, 2014.

May his Aluta soul continue to rest in eternal peace.
