The Solar Street Light project facilitated by the Federal Lawmaker, representing Remo Constituency, Hon. (Otunba) Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga, famously known as Ijaya, has brought enormous joy to the rural community of Eposo, Akaka and Ode Remo, in Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Speaking during the flagoff of the Phase 3 of the installation of the street lights, the Chairman of the Media Directorate of the Legislator; Ambassador Maxwell Adeyeri who represents Ijaya at the installation spot, said the gesture was geared towards bringing dividends of democracy to his constituents.
While briefing newsmen at Genesis Media House, Maxwell stated that the Phase 3 of the Street Light Projects which commenced today, Tuesday, September 20th, 2022, was also installed in Police Area Command, along Sagamu/Iperu road, Remo, area of the State. While he also made it known that the project is meant to light up dark spots around the communities, increase social and economic activities and reduce criminal activities in various benefiting communities.
Maxwell also urged the community leaders and residents of the various communities to take ownership of the lights and other government infrastructure to prevent vandalism.
Various Chieftains of the community who were present at the spot, applauds the Legislator for his gesture, while also expressed gratitude to the efforts of the Federal Lawmaker in construction of roads, boreholes, classrooms, health centres, as well as youth empowerments, skill acquisition training and many more, across the the three local government of Remo, while stating that the street lights would go a long way in restoring night life and also improve security in the areas of the communities.
The people of the area, who was present at the installation spot, also commended the Lawmaker for the donation of the street lights, which they said would add value to the security, lighting and night economy development of the benefiting communities.
While responding to the joyous comments of the residents, Maxwell also notes that the full support, canvassing and votes of the residents to get Ijaya re-elect again, would be a continuity of her restoration agenda to better her constituents through quality representation.
“This and many more are the community projects we have facilitated and we are committed to do more and more if re-elect again, come 2023,” he said.
