40 Million Women Mobilisation: APC Takes Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign To Communities Nationwide

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council has commenced an expanded grassroots mobilisation of women across Nigeria as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The exercise, led by the Director of Women Mobilisation of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Betta Edu, under the leadership of First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is reportedly targeting 176,846 communities across the country, with organisers seeking to mobilise 40 million women in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid. Recent reports confirm that ward and community-level engagements are already taking place in several states.

According to reports on the mobilisation drive, women’s groups have commenced meetings, consultations and grassroots engagements in parts of Jigawa, Kano, Zamfara, Kwara, Imo, Cross River, Benue, Plateau, Oyo, Ondo, Rivers and Osun states, among others.

The campaign structure is designed to strengthen contact with women at the community, ward and polling-unit levels, while encouraging participants to engage other residents and communicate the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration. In Kwara South, for instance, thousands of women recently participated in a mobilisation exercise in Offa as part of the wider community activation programme.

Supporters involved in the mobilisation have highlighted programmes they say have affected families, particularly in education and women’s empowerment. The Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) provides eligible students with loans covering verified institutional fees and, where applicable, upkeep costs. Its official portal describes the programme as interest-free, with repayment commencing under specified conditions after NYSC.

The women have also referenced empowerment initiatives associated with the Renewed Hope Initiative of First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu. Recent activities under the initiative have included programmes focused on women’s empowerment, while APC organisers have linked such interventions to their broader grassroots engagement ahead of 2027.

With ward and community meetings continuing across different parts of the country, the APC women’s mobilisation structure says it is focused on building a coordinated grassroots network ahead of the election.

The ongoing activities underline the growing importance of women’s participation in Nigeria’s 2027 electoral process, as political parties and campaign organisations intensify community-level engagement.

For the APC women’s mobilisation team, the message remains centred on unity, organisation and grassroots participation: APC Women, One Strength, Our Victory.
