The significant development took place during a strategic meeting involving APC candidates for the 2027 General Election, where Senator Adeola expressed delight at welcoming Alhaji Adewale, a respected political figure from Ilaro and a leading member of the PDP Apex Leadership in Ogun West Senatorial District, into the progressive fold.
Speaking on the development, Senator Adeola noted that the ongoing consultations, reconciliatory engagements, and strategic political outreach across the state are beginning to yield positive results, attracting influential stakeholders who share the vision of advancing Ogun State through progressive governance.
He described the defection as another indication of the growing confidence in the APC and its leadership ahead of the 2027 elections, adding that the party remains committed to building a broad-based coalition capable of delivering sustainable development and inclusive governance for the people of Ogun State.
Also present at the occasion was the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Kunle Salako, who joined Senator Adeola and other party leaders in celebrating the landmark political realignment, which is expected to further strengthen the APC’s presence and electoral prospects across Ogun West and the state at large.
