A youth body in Sagamu Local Government, Association Of Sabo Youth Leaders (ASYL) has today, Monday, January 10th, 2022 disclosed that this year’s Sabo Youth Day would come up between 19th – 28th of February, 2022, this was made known in a message sent out by the PRO, Comrade Femi Osho and signed by the President, Comrade Bashiru Olusola Aina.

ASYL which was awarded “The Best Community Youth Association Of The Year, 2021” by the convener’s of Remo Young Achievers Award, is the umbrella Youth body of all youth clubs, associations and groups in Sabo Community of Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State, GENESIS MEDIA HOUSE report.

In an interview session with our correspondent, Joshua Damilare, the President disclosed that this year’s anniversary would be a difference, especially now that there’s a youth as the new executive chairman of Sagamu Local Government in person of Ogbeni Jubril Afolabi Odulate, who came from Sabo II (Ward 5) of Sabo Community to become the local government chairman and also resides at GRA Quarters in Sabo as his country home.

He said: “We have decided to make this year’s Sabo Youth Day to be unique and it is going to be a Ten (10) days loudable event”. We have set up a planning committee and all duties and responsibilities have been charged in them to carry out their assignments in a unique way that will makes the anniversary more beautiful and extraordinary, the President added.

While speaking, the president also made it known that lots of developmental activities have been placed on table for the anniversary, such as; Football, Table Tennis, Snooker, Draught, Ludo, Chess & Ayo Ọlọpon Competition, Quiz & Debate Competition, Cleaning of all areas in Sabo, Cultural Display Show, Anniversary Rally, Visitations to all Palaces in Sabo Community, Seminar Programs, Empowerment, Lectures, Raffle Draw with lots of prizes to be won and lots of awards are also in places to be awarded to the best association, youth, exco and most distinguished personality within the area of Sabo Community, etc.

Speaking during the interview, the ASYL Social Secretary, Comrade Waheed Awokoya, who won the ASYL ‘Best Exco’ Of The Year ‘2020’, during the Sabo Youth Day (First Edition), plead to the local government administration, the entire Traditional Royal Council, all dignitaries living in and outside the area, and to all the entire youth of Sagamu both home and abroad, to stand in unity and always looks forward to the progress of the youth in the community while he also urge them to invest more weight in ASYL and also pleads for maximum support towards the Sabo Youth Day (2nd Edition) Anniversary.

“Build The Youth – Build The Nation, ASYL – Togetherness We Stand, God bless Sagamu! Sabo Youth Day (2nd Edition) 2022 Anniversary Vest will be officially announced once the planning committee have confirmed the preferable choice to be used”, the president added.
