La Liga: Madrid Star Player, Jude Bellingham Fine, Suspended For 2 Games Over Altercation With Referee

Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham has been banned for two La Liga matches.

Bellingham has been handed the suspension, after his red card against Valencia at the weekend.

The England international, La Liga’s top scorer with 16 strikes, netted moments after the referee blew for full-time in Madrid’s 2-2 draw at Valencia.

Bellingham thought he had scored the winner six minutes into stoppage time at the Mestalla on Saturday in what would have been a winner for Real, but referee Gil Manzano had controversially blown the full-time whistle as the cross was delivered, before Bellingham headed the ball into the net.

Bellingham, 20, ran over to the referee insisting the goal should stand and was sent off, with Gil Manzano saying he showed an “aggressive attitude” and was “shouting”.

The ace player was sent off after he furiously confronted referee Jesus Gil Manzano.

The midfielder will misses upcoming La Liga games against Celta Vigo and Osasuna.

The Spanish Football Federation, RFEF, competitions committee on Wednesday, has now confirmed Bellingham is banned for two matches for “attitudes of contempt or disregard towards referees, directors or sports authorities”.

It confirmed Bellingham had also been fined 600 euros (£513) with his club fined 700 euros.
