Sagamu born business entrepreneur and Ogun APC stalwart, Hon. Tola Olutayo, popularly known as Belgium, have send a message of hope and peace to all Nigerians, mostly the youth, that want to engage on a nationwide protest in Nigeria.

The statement reads;

I hope this message finds you well.

As we reflect on recent events, particularly the End SARS protest in October 2020, it is evident that was a significant moment for our communities in Yorubaland and the wider South West of Nigeria (Lagos State in particular). And the protest brought to light important issues.

However, it is with a heavy heart that I must address a matter of great concern.

The aftermath of the protest revealed challenges and consequences that we cannot ignore. While our intentions were noble and our voices were heard, we also witnessed the unfortunate escalation of tensions and violence that resulted in loss of lives and destruction of properties in Lagos State and other communities in South West (Yorubaland).

As we consider the path forward, it is crucial to weigh our actions carefully. Another public protest in Yorubaland at this time may inadvertently lead to further unrest and potentially more harm to our communities. It is essential to learn from our experiences and find alternative ways to channel our grievances and drive positive change.

Let us not forget the lessons learned from the Last End SARS protest.

Let us instead focus on peaceful dialogue, constructive engagement with authorities, and grassroots efforts to address the issues that affect us all.

Our strength lies in our unity and our ability to work together towards a better future for Yorubaland.

Therefore, I urge each and every one of us to consider the implications of another public protest at this sensitive time.

Let us prioritize the well-being and safety of our people, while continuing to advocate for justice and reform through peaceful means.
