From Eleyi To Okanlomo Of Ogun State: President Tinubu Gives Credit To Governor Abiodun

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun for the care and support extended to the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Dr. Sikiru Kayode Adetona.
Speaking at the 8th Day Fidau Prayers held in honor of the revered monarch, President Tinubu acknowledged the profound impact the Awujale had on his political journey. “I achieved success thanks to your support and the blessings of the late Awujale,” he shared. “I approached him, and he blessed me, saying, ‘You will win that election, and you will be re-elected. Go ahead!’”
Reflecting on Oba Adetona’s enduring legacy, Tinubu described the late monarch as a figure of great wisdom and credited Governor Abiodun for amplifying that wisdom throughout the state.
In a lighthearted remark, Tinubu referred to Abiodun’s nickname, “Eleyi of Ogun State,” which emerged during a campaign speech prior to the 2023 general elections. He went on to thank the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, whom he described as “Okanlomo Eleyi of Ogun State” for his role before, during and after the burial, saying, “At this time, I must publicly acknowledge how grateful I am to him for taking care of our father.”
