Tinubu’s Home State: Uphold Neutrality, And Keep Osun Out Of Political Crossfire — Governor Adeleke Urges Security Agencies

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has urged security agencies to maintain neutrality and professionalism amidst the evolving political landscape, emphasizing that Osun—home state of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu—should not become a political battleground.
The Governor made this poignant appeal during the decoration ceremony for his Aide-De-Camp, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ahmed Bio Abdulraman, at the Government House in Osogbo. The event was attended by notable security officials, including Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Gotan; Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) State Commandant, Mr. Igbalawole Sotiyo; Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander, Mr. Leye Adegboyega; along with other service chiefs.
In his remarks, Governor Adeleke commended the Nigeria Police Force for its commitment to professionalism, praising both the Inspector General of Police and the Osun Command for their adherence to discipline and due process. He specifically recognized Commissioner of Police Gotan for his leadership, which has fostered peace and stability across the state.
Highlighting the importance of a balanced political environment, Adeleke urged security personnel to stay impartial in all political activities. “We must continue to ensure a level playing field. This is the home of the President, and he belongs to all of us. Osun should not become a battleground,” the Governor asserted.
Expressing his pride in the promotion of DSP Abdulraman, Adeleke described him as an exemplary officer whose loyalty and discipline reflect the core values of the Nigeria Police. “I am thrilled about my ADC’s promotion. He exemplifies what the police should stand for,” remarked the Governor, further underlining the integral role of the Police Force in Nigeria’s growth and stability.
The Governor also acknowledged the sacrifices made by security operatives nationwide, referring to the Nigeria Police as a “blessed organization” deserving of gratitude from both government and citizens.
In a goodwill message, Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Gotan congratulated DSP Abdulraman, commending him for his commendable service record. He reminded the officer that promotions come with greater responsibilities and encouraged him to uphold discipline, professionalism, and the highest standards of policing.
Gotan reiterated the Osun Command’s commitment to fairness, human rights, and adherence to the rule of law, assuring the Governor that they remain prepared to maintain peace and order in the state, bolstered by government support.
In closing, the police commissioner encouraged officers statewide to emulate the dedication and hard work displayed by Abdulraman, heralding him as a role model within the Force.
