Jerry Gana Confirms Goodluck Jonathan’s 2027 Presidential Bid, Predicts Return To Aso Rock

Former Minister of Information and Orientation, Professor Jerry Gana, has asserted that former President Goodluck Jonathan will run for the presidency again in 2027 under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Gana made this declaration following the PDP Niger State Congress in Minna on Saturday.
In his remarks to journalists, Gana emphasized that the political landscape has shifted since Jonathan’s tenure, with Nigerians now longing for his leadership once more. He stated, “In 2015, former President Goodluck Jonathan made it clear that his ambition was not worth the blood of Nigerians. Since then, the nation has experienced two different leaderships—one for eight years and the other for two years. The difference is stark, and Nigerians are asking for the return of our friend, former President Goodluck Jonathan.”
Gana confidently announced, “I can confirm that Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will contest the presidential election in 2027 as the PDP candidate, and we should be ready to support him for a return to the presidency.”
The former minister characterized the PDP as a “truly democratic and grassroots-oriented” party that empowers Nigerians to choose their leaders freely. He asserted that the party’s popularity stems from its commitment to people-centered policies.
Addressing rumors of internal strife within the party, Gana dismissed the notion of a crisis, stating that any disagreements had been amicably resolved. “When there was a near crisis in the party, the founding fathers convened a consultative conference in Abuja to tackle the issues. We are now well-prepared for the task ahead in 2027,” he assured supporters.
Gana urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and advocate for Jonathan’s return to ensure “good governance” by voting out the current administration.
In related news, the state congress concluded with Alhaji Aliyu Mohammed Halidu being elected as the new party chairman, garnering 1,289 votes against Zonal Chairman Alhaji Yahaya Abdullahi, who received 1,269 votes. Other notable outcomes included Alhaji Khadi Kuta, who was returned unopposed as Secretary, and Mrs. Salome Ndakosu, who secured the position of Woman Leader with 1,373 votes, defeating Ramotu Jibrin with 590 votes.
In his acceptance speech, Halidu called for unity among party members, urging them to “join forces to reinstate a government that prioritizes the needs of the people in 2027.”
