‎Coup: Nigerian Military Confirms Officers’ Involvement In Plot To Overthrow President Tinubu

Reports indicate that, in October of last year, a group of officers, ranging in rank from Captain to Brigadier-General, were arrested and detained by the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) due to these serious allegations.

‎Major-General Samaila Uba, the Director of Defence Information, provided clarity on the matter in a statement following the reports. He announced that the investigation panel has submitted its findings to the “appropriate superior authority” for further action.

‎Major-General Uba stated, “Officers identified as having cases to answer will be formally charged before military judicial panels, where they will face trial under the Armed Forces Act and applicable service regulations.” These proceedings underscore the military’s commitment to upholding justice within its ranks.
