Ijebu-Ode Local Government Halts Maruwa Operations To Address Safety Concerns

The Executive Chairman of jebu-Ode Local, Hon. Oluwadamilare Alebiosu has announced an immediate suspension of all tricycle operations, commonly referred to as Maruwa, across all garages within its jurisdiction. This decision comes in response to alarming reports of disorderly conduct, traffic congestion, and breaches of public safety regulations.
In a statement signed today, October 20, 2025, Hon. Oluwadamilare Alebiosu, the Executive Chairman, emphasized the urgent need to restore public order and enhance traffic control in commercial transport. He indicated that the suspension will remain in effect until a comprehensive review is completed, aimed at improving the organization and safety of Maruwa operations.
