A New Era Of Healthcare: Negbuwa Of Ibido Leads The Way With Historic Ibido Health Center Commissioning

In a significant milestone for the Ibido community, His Royal Highness Alayeluwa Oba Kolawole Adesina Adeyemi, the Negbuwa of Ibido Land, officially opened the newly constructed Health Center today May 27, 2025, at the Negbuwa Palace in Sagamu, area of Ogun State. This momentous event marks a substantial step forward in enhancing healthcare access and infrastructure within the community.

While welcoming everyone to the event during his opening speech, Oba Adeyemi expressed his heartfelt gratitude to His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, the Akarigbo and Paramount ruler of Remo Land, for his unwavering support and commitment to the development of the region. He also highlighted the importance of community-driven initiatives in fostering better health and well-being for the people of Ibido.

The event featured notable speeches from key figures, including the head of service and nurse in charge of the new health center. She praised the Negbuwa for his remarkable generosity, emphasizing that the entire construction was funded solely from his personal purse. “Kabiyesi did not accept any funds from the government or corporate entities for this project,” she remarked, underscoring the selfless dedication of the Negbuwa to his community’s welfare.

Dr. Orire, the chief medical officer overseeing the health centers in Sagamu, also expressed his appreciation, commending the Negbuwa for his philanthropic efforts, which reflect a deep commitment to improving health services for the people of Ibido.
Highlighting the significance of community cohesion, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi commended the Negbuwa’s contributions, calling for unity among all Obas in Remo Land to enhance communal development. He expressed his astonishment at the high-quality construction and infrastructure provided by the Negbuwa and pledged his support in ensuring the health center is recognized as one of the best in Sagamu.

Following the speeches, the Negbuwa led the Akarigbo and other dignitaries to the newly opened health center, where they participated in the official commissioning, symbolizing a new era of accessible healthcare for Ibido.
