Lafarge Africa Rebrands As HBM Nigeria Plc, Unveils New Corporate Identity For Future Growth

In a landmark corporate transformation aimed at strengthening its long-term growth strategy and reinforcing its commitment to Nigeria’s development, Lafarge Africa Plc has officially announced its rebranding to HBM Nigeria Plc, unveiling a new corporate identity that marks the beginning of a new era for one of the nation’s foremost building solutions companies.

The transition to HBM Nigeria Plc reflects the company’s strategic evolution and renewed vision as a leading provider of innovative building solutions, while maintaining its strong local heritage and longstanding contributions to Nigeria’s construction and infrastructure sectors.

Speaking on the development, the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Lolu Alade-Akinyemi, described the rebranding as a significant milestone in the company’s journey, emphasizing that the new identity symbolizes a forward-looking organization focused on operational excellence, innovation, sustainability, and long-term value creation.

According to him, the adoption of the HBM Nigeria Plc identity represents an exciting new chapter that aligns with the company’s aspirations for the future while preserving the values that have defined its success over the years.

“HBM Nigeria Plc represents an exciting new chapter in our journey as a leading building solutions company. While our corporate identity is evolving, our commitment to Nigeria remains unwavering,” Alade-Akinyemi stated.

He further reaffirmed the company’s dedication to delivering high-quality cement, concrete, aggregates, and innovative building solutions that support infrastructure expansion, housing development, and industrial growth across the country.

“We remain focused on delivering quality cement, concrete, aggregates, and innovative building solutions that support infrastructure development, housing growth, and industrialisation. This transition positions us for the future while reinforcing the values of excellence, sustainability, customer satisfaction, and responsible business practices that have defined our legacy for decades,” he added.

The Chief Executive Officer disclosed that the rebranding process would be implemented through a carefully structured and phased transition across the company’s nationwide operations to ensure seamless continuity for all stakeholders.

Also commenting on the development, Chairman of HBM Nigeria Plc, Gbenga Oyebode, said the transition was designed to position the company for enduring success while remaining faithful to the principles, values, and corporate culture that have shaped its legacy over several decades.

The rebranding has also attracted commendation from the Federal Government. Minister of Works, David Umahi, praised HBM Nigeria Plc formerly Lafarge Africa Plc for its significant contributions to Nigeria’s infrastructure development, highlighting the company’s involvement in numerous landmark projects executed across different parts of the country.

Umahi noted that the company’s consistent delivery of quality building materials and solutions has played a vital role in supporting the nation’s infrastructure agenda and economic advancement.
