Emperor Oyen Foundation Celebrates Young Luminaries At First Literacy And Numeracy Exhibition In Sagamu
On Thursday, March 27, 2025, the Emperor Oyen Foundation, led by Prince Stephen Olumide Ogundeko (OYEN), held the Grand Finale of its inaugural Literacy, Numeracy, and Project Exhibition Competitions, tagged “Young Luminaries,” at the Sagamu Local Government Education Authority.
As the Special Guest of Honour and a supporter of the program, Prince Ogundeko emphasized the foundation’s commitment to prioritizing education. “We will continue to contribute our best efforts and encourage the host community not to give up, as this is a significant first for the Sagamu Local Government,” he stated.
The foundation aims to see more educational initiatives like this in all public primary schools across Sagamu and the wider Remo area. “I urge students to strive for excellence in their academics and showcase their skills,” Ogundeko added, while touring the Project Exhibition. The impressive projects created by students featured innovative materials, including cartons, bottle caps, tires, and wood.

Five public primary schools were randomly selected for sponsorship of their students’ Common Entrance Examination, which included:
1. African Church Primary School, Ijoku, Sagamu (Traffic Light Project)
2. St. Columelles Catholic Primary School Offin, Sagamu (Standing Fan Project)
3. Zumratul Islammiyah Primary School, Ojumele Makun, Sagamu (Helicopter Project)
4. Local Government School II, Temidire, Sabo Sagamu (Table & Chair Made from Tires Project)
5. Sokoya Memorial Wesley Primary School, Makun, Sagamu (Water Dispenser Project)
These commendable projects, including those from other schools, highlighted the creativity and potential of the students. The Hostess and Initiator of the program, Mrs. Morayo Rabiu, Head of Academic & School Services, was acknowledged for her dedication in bringing this initiative to life in Sagamu. Dignitaries in attendance included Dr. Mrs. Ronke Soyombo, Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary and Secondary Education, and HRH Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile (Radanuwa of Idado Kingdom), among others.
