‎Tesla CEO Elon Musk has achieved a groundbreaking milestone by becoming the first individual in history to reach a net worth of half a trillion dollars, according to the latest update from Forbes’ real-time billionaires index.

‎As of 4:15 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Musk’s wealth soared to $500.1 billion, primarily driven by a resurgence in Tesla’s stock prices and the impressive valuations of his other enterprises, including SpaceX and his artificial intelligence firm, xAI.

‎On the same day, Musk’s fortune surged by over $6 billion, coinciding with a 3.3% increase in Tesla’s shares, which have risen more than 14% year-to-date despite ongoing concerns regarding weak sales and profit margins.

‎Recent investor optimism has been bolstered by Musk’s renewed commitment to Tesla after a period of political engagement in Washington. His confidence was further underscored by a substantial investment of approximately $1 billion in Tesla shares in September, signaling his dedication as the company transitions from being solely an automaker to a frontrunner in artificial intelligence and robotics.

‎In an even more ambitious move, Tesla’s board has proposed a staggering $1 trillion compensation package for Musk, linking it to the attainment of specific financial and operational benchmarks in exchange for a greater ownership stake.

‎Musk’s wealth is also significantly augmented by his other ventures. SpaceX, currently valued at around $400 billion based on recent insider transactions, and xAI, estimated to be worth approximately $75 billion with potential growth to $200 billion, contribute substantially to his financial portfolio.

‎Following Musk on the Forbes billionaires list is Larry Ellison, co-founder of Oracle, whose net worth is currently estimated at $350.7 billion.
