Niyifola Shines At 2025 Agemo Festival Of Makun Land, Distributes Relief Food Packages To Attendees

The vibrant celebrations of the 2025 Agemo Festival of Makun Land reached a jubilant conclusion today, Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the Ewusi Palace in the Sagamu Local Government area of Ogun State. Omooba (Dr.) Adeniyi Adesola Idowu, politically known as Niyifola, a distinguished philanthropist and prominent son of the soil, took center stage in the festivities, emphasizing the cultural significance and communal bonds fostered through the event.
Niyifola, a bona fide prince from the Muleruwa Royal Ruling House of Makun, extended his heartfelt congratulations to His Royal Highness, Oba Timothy Oyesola Akinsanya, Ogbagba II, the Ewusi of Makun Land, alongside High Chief Babatunde Adebayo Awoyemi, the Alase Agemo of Makun Land, and Chief Mrs. Omobolanle Alimi Akinsanya, the Alase Obinrin. He also acknowledged the contributions of all traditional chiefs and the sons and daughters of Makun Land who came together to celebrate this auspicious occasion.
In his inspiring remarks, Niyifola highlighted the importance of the Agemo Festival as a traditional and cultural event dedicated to cleansing the land and honoring the ancestors. “This festival is not just a celebration; it’s a way to express our gratitude to our forebears while making fervent requests for the prosperity and upliftment of our beloved community,” he stated.
Niyifola in his display of compassion, distributed relief food packages to hundreds of attendees at the festival, comprising old and young, market men and women, indigenes, and non-indigenes. This humanitarian gesture was a testament to his commitment to the well-being of the community.
He also expressed optimism for the future of the festival, describing it as a flourishing cultural event that promises to bring forth more rhythmic tunes, vibrant styles, and culturally oriented activities. He passionately urged all sons and daughters of Makun, both home and abroad, to increase their support and contributions to the festival. “I believe that our celebration will evolve into a global event, attracting people from all corners of the world and earning recognition as a premier cultural festival for tourists,” he added.
He further posited that the Agemo Festival would rise to prominence, standing alongside renowned Yoruba celebrations like the Ojude Oba, Osun-Osogbo, Olojo Festival, and the Sango Festival. “Our festival will challenge these esteemed gatherings and position Makun Land as a cultural hotspot,” Niyifola concluded, leaving attendees and participants with a profound sense of pride and a renewed commitment to their heritage.
As the festival wrapped up, the atmosphere at the Ewusi Palace was filled with joy, laughter, and a sense of unity, showcasing the deep-rooted traditions and cultural richness of Makun Land.
