OGUN 2023: Sagamu APC Youth League Condemns Attack On Peterfad’s Billboard Destructions In Sagamu, Urge Youths To Resist From Being Used As Political Thug

The leadership of a political youth body under the auspices of APC Youth League, Sagamu Chapter, have condemned in strong term against act of some unknown political thuggery who destroyed and vandalised All Progressive Congress, APC billboards sponsored by Mr. Peter Olusola Fadipe, known as Peterfad, who is the CEO of Peterfad Marble and Dignity Works, across major roads and round about in Sagamu metropolis.

In a statement made available to newsmen at Genesis Media House (GMH) on Tuesday, 25th October 2022, the Coordinator of the League, Comr. Hammed Sunmola popularly known as Tantala, said that they received the news of destruction and vandalisation of all the giant billboards of Peterfad, who also doubled as the Legal Adviser of the League, by some unknown hoodlums suspected to be thugs for reasons which are still yet to be known, on Monday, with shock and disbelief, warning youths from the area to resist from being used as political thug.

He disclosed that the billboards destroyed and vandalised were campaign properties of Peterfad, an APC supporter, loyalist, sponsorer and party faithfuls in the area, who does not vye for any elected political office, positions in the State or having interest in the transport union offices of the State. Recalled that Peterfad as a progressive core man, is well known for his way of doing big campaign billboards for the party, APC and all the party candidates in all electioneering period.

GMH gathered that in 2019 electioneering process that brought Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun -MFR to power as Ogun State Governor, Peterfad, donated over 20 billboards, including several caps, posters, vests and some donations for the party, APC, and its candidates, respectively, to support their campaign activities, and he has till now being doing it as well, and towards the upcoming 2023 general elections, he has also done more than 10 billboards across Sagamu area, to support the campaign activities of Governor Dapo Abiodun, and all other APC candidates.

The Coordinator Tantala, however, used the medium to call on the Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Afolabi Odulate, Police and other security agencies to ensure the arrest of those hoodlums and their sponsors who are behind this ugly and unfortunate situation to serve as deterrent to others, noting APC is a party of peace that doesn’t habour criminals.

Tantala also called on all party chieftains, leaders, elders and all elected office holders across party divides, as well as all transport union leaders in the state, to be progressive minded and always engage the youths in healthy activities that will significantly benefit their lives and the lives of the people around them.

He, therefore call on Peterfad, and other party members and supporters across all wards 1 to 15 of Sagamu area to calm dawn, not to take laws on their hands, as all necessary legal action will be done on the matter, and against the sponsors and those who participated in the destruction of the billboards.

“Let’s do politics with a difference. We still share the same blood and we are still making the struggle for the betterment of the party, APC, the state and the people as well as making all our candidates emerge winner at the 2023 polls”, Tantala said, as he appealed to the youth to shun any political leaders, politician or union leaders who will use them for destructive purposes.

“It is my appeal to the youth, on behalf of the Sagamu APC Youth League, to be more reasonable, to be more calculative, to be brotherly, and to be more thoughtful about their own lives; what they can contribute to the state in a positive manner and not what they can destroy in the state, and not to destroy people’s lives, not to destroy people’s property, not to do politics of calumny or politics of destruction,” he added.

Our Correspondent reports that some of the places were the billboards destroyed include; Akarigbo road at the Ita Oba area and also the one at Baruwa junction, numbering up to four billboards in numbers that was destroyed.
