Osun PDP Advises APC To Resolve Internal Issues, Rejects Allegations As Baseless

The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a stern warning to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), urging them not to involve the PDP in what they term the APC’s internal strife. The PDP has called on the APC to focus on its own challenges rather than projecting its problems onto others.
In a statement released on Monday in Osogbo, Hezekiah Oladele Bamiji, the PDP Director of Media, characterized the APC’s recent accusations as “a baseless rant from a disorganized opposition drowning in its own crisis.” He suggested that the allegations were a desperate attempt to divert attention from the ongoing leadership battles and factional divisions within the APC—issues that have become evident to the public.
”It is laughable that a party deeply entrenched in leadership disputes is accusing the PDP of fabrications. The Osun APC is at war with itself, and its frustrated leadership is in search of scapegoats,” Bamiji stated.
The PDP emphasized that under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke, the administration remains focused on governance and is undeterred by the opposition’s distractions. “Governor Adeleke’s administration is too focused on service delivery to be drawn into unnecessary exchanges. We are actively constructing roads, revitalizing health centers, rehabilitating schools, and ensuring timely payment of workers,” Bamiji noted.
The PDP highlighted the goodwill generated by the Adeleke-led government across Osun State, stating that residents from various sectors—including teachers, traders, pensioners, and students—are experiencing positive changes. “The people are happy, the economy is reviving, and public service is regaining dignity,” the statement read.
The party called upon journalists and the public to critically evaluate information originating from the APC before dissemination. The PDP reiterated its commitment to peace and progress within the state: “When cornered by their internal chaos, the APC looks for who to blame. The media should resist falling for their old tricks of lies and deflection. The APC’s crisis is homegrown, and the PDP will not be dragged into it.”
The statement concluded with a reiteration of the PDP’s mission to sustain the principles of good governance initiated by Governor Adeleke. “Osun people deserve better than the APC’s theatrics. Our focus remains on improving the lives of residents through people-oriented policies. We have no time for distractions; we are busy working, and the results speak for themselves.”
In a related development, the state chapter of the APC has rejected a circulated list of purported consensus candidates, labeling it as a fake and politically motivated tactic. In a statement issued over the weekend, APC chairman Tajudeen Lawal accused the PDP of fabricating and propagating the false list in an effort to sow confusion ahead of the 2026 governorship election, emphasizing the party’s desperation to cling to power through fraudulent means.
