Police Begins Probe Of Officers Involve In ‘Murder’ Of Betting Agent In Ogun

Ogun State Police Command says it has commenced investigation into the alleged killing of a betting agent, Mr. Anuoluwapo Abiodun, a.k.a Pepe, by a Police Officer.
Anuoluwapo Abiodun, a graduate of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State was reportedly shot at the entrance of his shop in Imala Elega area of the state by a trigger happy police officer.
A witness told Journalists that the officer who was accused of being drunk fled the scene of the incident with the support of his colleagues who shot sporadically to disperse the protesting youths in the area.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the incident in Abeokuta, said the State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu had initiated an investigation and was engaging with all relevant stakeholders to ensure a thorough probe.
Meanwhile, the death had sparked outrage and protests from residents of the community, demands for justice and accountability,as well as thorough investigation into the matter.
