On Saturday, June 13th, 2026, Hon. Funmilayo Efuwape (FAECO), the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the House of Representatives representing the Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency, conducted a significant royal courtesy visit to His Royal Highness, Oba Timothy Oyesola Akinsanya, the Ewusi of Makun Land, at his royal palace. This visit marks an important milestone in her campaign as she prepares for the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
The Kabiesi warmly welcomed FAECO and her entourage with a resounding display of joy and respect. During the visit, FAECO introduced her distinguished guests to the esteemed monarch. In her address, FAECO expressed profound gratitude to Oba Akinsanya for his exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to the advancement of Makun Land. “I stand before the throne of our forefathers to seek your royal blessings, guidance, and prayers as we embark on this electoral journey,” she stated, underscoring the significance of royal endorsement in her political aspirations.
Addressing circulating rumors regarding her candidacy, FAECO firmly rejected claims of discord between herself and the Kabiesi. “Such speculations are mere fallacies aimed at sowing division,” she asserted. “Kabiesi is my father, and I am his daughter. It is inconceivable that a father would not desire success for his child.” She further commended Oba Akinsanya for nurturing the growth of the sons and daughters of Makun and reaffirmed her commitment to his mentorship.
In her remarks, FAECO delineated her legislative vision for Remo Land, highlighting her dedication to effective governance and quality representation upon her election. Her proposed initiatives are designed to foster community development and enhance the well-being of her constituents.
In response, Oba Akinsanya extended his congratulations to FAECO on her nomination as the APC candidate, expressing pride in her accomplishments and the progress made by the youth of Makun in various fields. He reiterated the strong bond between himself and FAECO, dispelling any rumors of conflict. “She is one of my esteemed daughters, and my doors are always open to her,” he affirmed.
The royal visit concluded with the Kabiesi extending his blessings and prayers for FAECO, urging her to uphold her commitments to the people of Remo Land and contribute positively to their growth and development.
Subsequent to the palace visit, FAECO attended a ceremonial event hosted by the Sister-to-Sister sociopolitical group at the Ewusi Hall in Makun Sagamu. During this event, she was honored with an Award of Excellence, which she graciously accepted. “I am truly honored by this recognition and encourage all to support the APC candidates in the upcoming elections,” she proclaimed, reiterating her commitment to serving the community diligently.
FAECO further addressed ongoing concerns regarding her candidacy, assuring the audience of her legitimacy as the authentic APC candidate for the House of Representatives in the 2027 elections. She called upon all attendees to mobilize support for the APC, emphasizing her readiness to serve the community with dedication and integrity.
The event was attended by numerous dignitaries, including Omooba Dr. Olukoya Adedoyin, Ogun East APC Senatorial Chairman; Evangelist Ifede; Alhaji Dauda Olokun, Member of the Governor’s Advisory Council; and Alhaja Rukayat Ogunnubi, APC Women Leader, all of whom demonstrated their support for FAECO’s candidacy and her vision for the future of Remo Land.
