‎APC Ogun East Chair, Dr. Adeleke Adedoyin “Asoludero”, Hosts LG Party Chairmen, Liaison Officers, And Others, To Review E-registration Drive

In a strategic move to consolidate the party’s grassroots strength, the Ogun East Senatorial Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Otunba Oloore Dr. Adeleke Adedoyin, popularly known as Baba Asoludero, on January 25, 2026 convened a crucial meeting with all nine Local Government Party Chairmen and Government Liaison Officers (GLOs) from the Ogun East Senatorial District.

‎The high-level consultative forum, held at the prestigious Asoludero Villa along Akarigbo Road, Sagamu, Ogun State, was primarily aimed at reviewing progress, addressing challenges, and reinvigorating the ongoing nationwide electronic membership registration and revalidation exercise of the APC.

‎In his opening address, Baba Asoludero extended a warm welcome to the party stalwarts, commending their dedication and the progress recorded thus far. He, however, charged them to redouble their efforts, emphasizing that the exercise is fundamental to the party’s internal democracy, planning, and future electoral dominance.

‎“Our strength lies in our numbers and the unity of our purpose,” stated the revered party leader. “I urge you all to champion peaceful cohesiveness, unwavering loyalty, and proactive engagement in all party activities. Go back to your wards and units; canvass vigorously among your relatives, neighbours, and community members. Let them know that the APC remains the party that delivers tangible dividends of democracy—from massive infrastructure and road construction to advancements in security, education, healthcare, and employment generation.”

‎Baba Asoludero meticulously outlined the critical importance of the e-registration, describing it as a digital gateway for members to access future party benefits, participate in primaries, and validate their membership. He also highlighted the potential disadvantages for individuals who fail to obtain the updated party membership card, underscoring its necessity for full participation in the party’s ecosystem.

‎Shifting focus to operational hurdles, the Senatorial Chairman directed the attendees to present frank assessments of the challenges impeding the registration drive in their respective localities. He praised the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for providing exemplary leadership and ensuring a supportive environment for the exercise, with the clear objective of positioning Ogun State as the nation’s leader in APC membership numbers.

‎In a robust response, the gathering of LG Chairmen and GLOs unanimously applauded Baba Asoludero’s visionary leadership and initiative in convening the meeting, describing it as a timely platform for synergy and problem-solving.

‎A review of the registration data presented revealed encouraging numbers across the local governments, demonstrating significant grassroots mobilization. However, the subsequent open forum identified key bottlenecks threatening to slow the momentum:

‎1.  NIN Integration Hurdle: A major concern raised was the mandatory linkage with the National Identification Number (NIN). Attendees reported significant difficulties enrolling elderly citizens and others who do not yet possess a NIN, effectively barring them from the APC register.

‎2.  Network Inadequacies: Unstable and poor internet connectivity in several areas was cited as a critical factor causing prolonged delays and frustration during the registration process.

‎3.  Collision with INEC Voter Registration: The simultaneous timing of the APC e-registration and the ongoing INEC Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise has created confusion. Many potential registrants cannot proceed because they lack a Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) number, which is a required field.

‎4.  Logistical & Human Capacity Constraints: Other issues included time constraints, a need for more training for some registration officers to handle the digital tools efficiently, and an overall shortage of personnel to cover vast areas.

‎The attendees concluded that resolving these issues would lead to an immediate and dramatic surge in registration figures.

‎The forum also commend Governor Dapo Abiodun for his substantial financial and logistical support to the party structure. A clarion call was made to all other elected officials, political appointees, stakeholders, and prominent personalities within the Ogun APC family to emulate the Governor’s commitment by directly supporting the registration effort in their domains to ensure a resounding success before the deadline.

‎The meeting was attended by all APC Local Government Party Chairmen, Government Liaison Officers, and Membership Registration Supervisors from the nine LGAs in Ogun East: Ijebu-Ode, Ijebu North, Ijebu East, Ijebu North East, Odogbolu, Sagamu, Remo North, Ikenne, and Ogun Waterside.
