The guest list further expanded to include significant elders from the party, including Otunba Osho (Oloore), Elder Chief Kola Tonight, Alhaji Dauda Olokun, and several other respected community and party elders and leaders.

The event not only attracted party stalwarts but also respected figures from neighboring local governments, such as Hon. Ladejobi, the Remo North APC Party Chairman, and Hon. Segun, the former Chairman of Ikenne Local Government. Their presence underscored the solidarity and strength of the APC in Ogun State.

‎Also present were Otunba Olaide (Citizen), SSA to the Ogun State Governor, Hon. Yaya Olodeoku, former Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Hon. Rafiu Awoyemi (Skin), and several party ward chairman, party icons and members drawn from all the fifteen wards of Sagamu Local Government.

In his opening remarks, he called on all constituents to participate en masse in the ongoing APC membership card registration and voters’ card acquisition. He reiterated that these cards are vital tools for securing victory in the upcoming elections in 2027. ‎

‎He commended Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun and Senator YAYI for their immense support and contributions to the success of the gathering, expressing optimism that Ogun State would continue to witness greater prosperity with Governor Abiodun becoming Ogun East Senator and Senator YAYI emerging as the Governor in 2027.

In his remarks, Pa. Rafiu Opaleye complemented Asoludero’s sentiments, commending him for organizing such an inclusive gathering of party members and elders. He urged attendees to maintain their loyalty to the APC, highlighting that the party represents the path to success and good governance. ‎‎Pa. Opaleye also dismissed speculations of discord between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Governor Dapo Abiodun, stating that their relationship remains cordial, likening it to that of a father and son, as well of a good quality relationship between the Governor and Senator YAYI, while also advising the public to dismiss any misleading narratives that may sow discord between the leaders.

Alhaja Rukayat Sonubi, speaking on behalf of the women, highlighted the imperative of women’s involvement in governance, asserting that their contributions are crucial for developmental progress. Her powerful message resonated with attendees, reminding them of the pivotal role women play in political discourse.

Hon. Segun, the former Local Government Chairman of Ikenne, echoed calls for the emergence of Senator YAYI as the next Governor, advocating for sustained support towards Governor Abiodun’s senatorial bid in 2027.

Adding to the discussions, Hon. Ladejobi, the Remo North APC Party Chairman, reinforced the calls for APC membership and voter registration, emphasizing these as essential elements for an electoral victory. ‎‎Similarly, Otunba Ololaide (Citizen) charged members to secure their APC membership cards and PVCs, describing them as the only legitimate pathway to victory at the polls.

Representing Senator YAYI, Hon. Dr. Adejare conveyed the Senator’s apologies for his absence, and articulated the Senator’s appreciation for the warm reception, clarifying that the absence of YAYI was solely due to pressing emergency official assignment, while expressing delight at the warm reception accorded him and commended Baba Asoludero for organizing the successful gathering. He expressed optimism about the forthcoming elections, urging everyone to be proactive in securing their PVCs and APC membership cards. Dr. Adejare delved into various developmental projects initiated by YAYI across the State, including solar streetlight projects, road reconstruction, transformer distribution, youth and women empowerment, employment creation, loan disbursement schemes and infrastructure interventions, noting that these achievements position him as the most qualified candidate and best for Ogun people for the 2027 governorship race.

In conclusion, Dr. Adejare appealed for continued prayer, loyalty and unwavering support for Senator YAYI, asserting that his potential governorship would herald significant advancements for Ogun State. He encapsulated the day’s spirit, underscoring the belief that with solidarity, loyalty, and commitment, the dreams of good governance and prosperous democracy can be realized, assuring that a YAYI administration as Ogun Governor would usher in accelerated development, grassroots empowerment and expanded dividends of democracy.

The well-attended Thanksgiving gathering not only served as a celebration of unity and gratitude, but also as a strategic mobilization platform, reaffirming Sagamu APC’s readiness to play a pivotal role in shaping Ogun State’s political future ahead of the 2027 elections.
