Sagamu Council Of Baales Endorses Hon. Funmilayo Efuwape (FAECO), Vows Unwavering Support For 2027 House Of Reps Bid

The Sagamu Council of Baales, under the leadership of Chief Onabanjo, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, paid a courtesy and familiarization visit to the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the House of Representatives, Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency, Hon. Funmilayo Efuwape, popularly known as FAECO, at her residence in the GRA Quarters area of Sagamu, Ogun State.
The delegation, comprising executive members of the council, visited the APC standard-bearer to congratulate her on her emergence as the party’s candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections, while also reaffirming their unwavering support, loyalty, and endorsement of her candidacy.
Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of the Sagamu Council of Baales, Chief Onabanjo, stated that the purpose of the visit was to strengthen existing ties with Hon. Efuwape and officially identify with her aspiration to represent the people of Ikenne, Sagamu, and Remo North Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.
Chief Onabanjo described FAECO as a dependable grassroots leader and a committed supporter of traditional institutions, noting that she has consistently demonstrated genuine concern for the welfare of the council and its members. He acknowledged her role as the Matron of the Council, commending her numerous contributions to the growth, welfare, and activities of the Baales across Sagamu.
The chairman further declared that the council and its members were fully prepared to mobilize support and throw their collective weight behind her victory at the polls in 2027. He expressed confidence in her capacity to provide quality representation and attract meaningful development to the federal constituency.
The council also used the occasion to appreciate the Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun, alongside APC elders, leaders, and stakeholders across Remo Federal Constituency, for entrusting the party’s ticket to Hon. Efuwape. According to the council, her emergence reflects the wishes of the grassroots and demonstrates the party’s commitment to rewarding dedication, competence, and community service.
The traditional leaders noted that FAECO has over the years distinguished herself as a prominent political figure and a passionate contributor to the social and economic development of Remo Land. They maintained that the APC made the right decision by presenting her as its candidate, expressing optimism that her candidacy would further strengthen the party’s fortunes in the constituency.
Responding, Hon. Funmilayo Efuwape expressed profound appreciation to the leadership and members of the Sagamu Council of Baales for the honour of their visit and their public declaration of support. She described the gesture as encouraging and humbling, assuring them that she would continue to uphold the values of service, integrity, and grassroots development.
As the Matron of the Council, FAECO reiterated her commitment to supporting traditional institutions and fostering community growth. She also seized the opportunity to outline some of her legislative visions and developmental plans for Remo Land, emphasizing her desire to facilitate people-oriented policies, attract developmental projects, empower youths and women, and strengthen opportunities for economic growth across the constituency.
She further assured the visitors of her continued dedication to grassroots engagement and community advancement, stressing that her political journey is rooted in the people she seeks to serve.
”I am from you, for you, and made by you,” she affirmed. “With your prayers, support, and dedication, we will work together to build a stronger, more prosperous, and progressive Remo Federal Constituency.”
The meeting ended on a note of unity and optimism, with both the traditional leaders and the APC candidate expressing confidence in a brighter future for the people of Ikenne, Sagamu, and Remo North Federal Constituency.
