FAECO Seeks Royal Blessing, Donates ₦1m To Support Okeselu Farmers
The 2027 All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the House of Representatives in the Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency, Hon. Mrs. Olufunmilayo Efuwape, popularly known as FAECO, has paid a courtesy visit to the Oselu of Okeselu, His Royal Highness, Alayeluwa Oba Ezekiah Rasheed Adetayo, at his palace in Okeselu, Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The visit, which took place on Sunday, September 20, 2026, formed part of FAECO’s ongoing engagements with traditional rulers and communities across the constituency ahead of the 2027 electoral process.
During the visit, FAECO sought the monarch’s counsel, goodwill and royal blessings as she continues her political journey towards the 2027 election.
Welcoming FAECO and members of her delegation, Oba Adetayo expressed appreciation for the visit and used the occasion to draw attention to some of the pressing developmental needs of the Okeselu community.
Among the issues highlighted by the traditional ruler were road infrastructure, employment opportunities, rural development and support for local agriculture, areas considered important to improving the socio-economic wellbeing of residents.
Responding, FAECO thanked the monarch for the warm reception and described their relationship as a cordial father-and-daughter bond founded on mutual respect and goodwill.
She emphasised that the development of rural communities would remain an important part of her vision for Remo, noting that meaningful development must reach communities outside major urban centres, particularly areas where residents depend heavily on agriculture and other grassroots economic activities for their livelihoods.
As an immediate response to one of the concerns raised during the engagement, FAECO announced a donation of One Million Naira (₦1,000,000) to support local farmers in Okeselu, particularly small-scale farmers.
According to her, the intervention was aimed at providing practical assistance to farmers and strengthening agricultural activities at the grassroots. She further reaffirmed her commitment to engaging directly with communities, understanding their individual needs and supporting initiatives capable of improving livelihoods and creating sustainable economic opportunities.
FAECO also urged residents and eligible voters across Okeselu and the wider Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency to remain actively engaged in the democratic process ahead of the 2027 elections. She called for continued support for the APC candidates across the various levels of government.
Speaking on behalf of the Okeselu community, a chief from the palace appreciated FAECO for the donation, describing it as a timely gesture towards supporting farmers in the community.
The chief assured the delegation that the funds would be carefully monitored by the Okeselu Traditional Council to ensure that the money reaches the intended beneficiaries and is used strictly for the purpose for which it was provided.
The visit concluded with further discussions on grassroots development, agricultural empowerment, community needs and the importance of sustained engagement between political actors, traditional institutions and local communities.
The engagement underscored the growing emphasis on grassroots participation and community-focused initiatives as stakeholders across Remo prepare for the 2027 electoral process.
