The Remo Growth and Development Foundation (RGDF) held a press briefing today at the Conference Hall in Akarigbo Palace, Sagamu area of Ogun State, in preparation for the upcoming Remo Day 2024, scheduled from December 20th to 27th.

The briefing which emphasized the significance of the celebration for Remo sons and daughters both home and abroad.

In his opening remarks, the Vice Chairman of RGDF; Prince Wole Sowole who also doubled as the Chairman of the Remo Day 2024 Planning Committee, provided a brief history of the Remo Day celebration, highlighting its cultural importance. “The Remo Growth and Development Foundation has been entrusted with the task of organizing a befitting celebration as mandated by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR, Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland,” he stated.

The press briefing was attended by various dignitaries, including Mr. Olamide Onimole, Financial Secretary of RGDF Governing Council, Mrs. Ronke Soyombo; Special Advisor to the Ogun State Governor on Education, who also heads the RGDF Directorate for Education and Youth Empowerment, Aare Wemi Osude, and Omooba Abiola Ogundeko, Media and Publicity Adviser for RemoGDF. Notable royal fathers in attendance included the Onilaye of Ilaye, Legunshe of Ilupeju, and Alakenne of Ikenne, among others, all of whom expressed support for the upcoming celebration.

This gathering marks the beginning of an anticipated week-long event aimed at fostering unity and celebrating the rich heritage of the Remo community.
