‎APC Orders Ministers, Officials To Stop VP-Nominee Speculations For 2027

By Oludare Joshua

The All Progressives Congress (APC) wishes to address the recent surge of media speculation surrounding the potential replacement of Vice President Kashim Shettima as the running mate to President Bola Tinubu in the forthcoming 2027 General Elections.

‎While these rumors have been largely subtle, they have escalated recently with various names being put forward as possible candidates for the Vice Presidency. We would like to clarify emphatically that these claims are purely speculative, unfounded, and entirely baseless.

‎We urge media organizations to refrain from amplifying the voices of rumor-mongers and dubious sources whose intentions may serve only to sow discord and confusion within our political landscape.

‎In accordance with our electoral laws and regulations, political activities are currently restricted. At this juncture, our Party remains firmly committed to supporting President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima as they execute the Renewed Hope Agenda—a transformative initiative focused on revitalizing the economy and improving the living conditions of our citizens through impactful reforms.

‎We call upon all our ministers, senior government officials, and party representatives to consciously avoid fueling unnecessary speculation, either intentionally or inadvertently. Their primary focus should be on fulfilling their duties with diligence and contributing to the success of President Tinubu, our exceptional and visionary leader.

‎Felix Morka, CON
